About Colquite Labradors

My name is Sarah. I have always loved dogs, and even from a very early age I always knew they would become a big part of my life.

My dogs are first and foremost my pets and are very much loved members of the family. However, they all train over the summer and work hard picking up on shoots during the winter months doing the job they love and were bred to do.

Breeding Labradors is a passion for me, I normally only breed a litter when I want a pup myself and take great care to produce the best dogs possible, and rear them correctly and with love. My aim is to continually better the breed if I can, and ensure that future generations are the best they possibly can be, reaching their full potential and worthy of the exceptional reputation that Colquite Labradors enjoys.

Juno, my first Labrador, arrived when I was in my early 20s and was bought in to be my foundation breeding bitch. She was actually fully show bred and although I did show her a bit (with great success!) I could see that her real joy in life came from working her brain. So with the help of a friend I began to learn how to train her for picking up and very quickly got the gun dog bug! I now enjoy training and working my dogs more than ever and as result now keep a small pack of working/trial bred Labradors as these are far better suited to the job and tend to be a little easier to train too!
